Ukranian Energobank signs up for SmartVista to rebuild the processing center

Press release

November 7, 2005

Banking Production Centre (BPC), the leading e-payments and retail banking solutions provider and systems integrator, signed a contract with Energobank (Ukraine) for the supply and implementation of the SmartVista processing solution.

BPC’s solution will replace the bank’s current card processing system which neither meets the bank’s actual requirements nor copes with the ever growing volumes of card business. With the new SmartVista-based processing centre in place the bank will be able to offer its clients a wider range of retail financial services through multiple delivery channels.

Energobank is an Associate Member of Visa International sponsored by Ukreximbank. SmartVista Front-End and SmartVista Back-Office systems, the two key elements of the new processing infrastructure, will support issuing and acquiring of Visa card products. In the near future, after the bank joins MasterCard payment scheme as an Affiliate Member, the SmartVista solution will also provide for the issuing and acquiring of MasterCard cards.

The features and functions of the SmartVista solution will enable the bank to deliver innovative retail financial services through different channels – branches, ATM network, merchants. Along with traditional card-based services, the bank’s customers will benefit from a new self-service option - fund transfer to predefined accounts.

“Like many other players of the booming Ukrainian retail banking market we believe that only future-proof innovative technology can become a solid foundation for the further growth of our business,” said Denis Novikov, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Energobank. “We are confident that SmartVista-based card processing infrastructure will help us to improve the service and to make our card products more attractive for customers.”

“This project is a significant milestone for BPC as we continue to extend our reach into the Ukrainian market of IT-solutions for retail banking,” said Vasily Volynsky, Director BPC Ukraine. “Our transaction processing and card management solution will allow Energobank to offer its clients the most advanced card-based financial products available today.”
