SmartVista suite deploys EMV functionality to enable Low
value payment products
Press release
October 26, 2005
In response to recent strong interest towards low value payments solutions,
Banking Production Centre (BPC) has released several new EMV enabled modules.
BPC now provides its customers in retail chains (including issuers, acquirers
and merchants) with a proven platform for pre-authorized debit and bill payment.
The growing array of business schemes used to dramatically reduce paper-based
operations and increase convenience for countless low value transactions has
provided a strong driver to use smart card technology based products. The new
SmartVista suite release enables retailers to achieve high level flexibility
and yet tighter control over low value payment instruments by use of pre-authorized
debit, an application based on re-loadable smart chip.
This important product extension was designed specifically for the broad family
of EMV products. Now EMV cardholders are enabled for internal funds accumulator
top-up for M-Chip 4 and VSDC+ applications. With the rapid growth of the attractive
services offered to EMV card holders this business model becomes a strong influence
to achieve previously impossible cards usage rates.
SmartVista based products enable banking product developers to set risk management
parameters for each client individually, and even invite cardholders to do
it for themselves. This approach supports the current appetite for self-service,
freedom of choice, and consumer preference.
