OneCard goes live with SmartVista processing solution

Banking Production Centre (BPC), a leading electronic payments and e-business solutions provider and systems integrator, has announced that on March 8, OneCard International, the Philippines-based issuer of MasterCard credit cards, went live after the first phase of SmartVista processing solution implementation.

The OneCard's processing centre modernization project launched in late 2004 was aimed at the migration of the company's card business to a modern platform providing the flexibility to add new technologies and facilities. The project was split into two phases, first stage covering MasterCard common magnetic stripe functionality implementation, and the second one — EMV-migration to enable OneCard to manage the complete life cycle of EMV-compliant smart cards and smart card applications.

At the first phase of the project that took 4 months BPC installed SmartVista Front-End switching system and SmartVista Back-Office card management system, establishing infrastructure for MasterCard credit products issuing, database maintenance, authorization processing, clearing and settlement. From now on OneCard is able to handle all current card business needs while benefiting from the enhanced functionality of its new processing centre.

Modernization of OneCard's processing centre is the second BPC's project in the Philippines aimed at total replacement of the organization's "legacy" processing infrastructure with future-proof solutions based on SmartVista suite, built in compliance with Open Systems approach and incorporating in its design the support for all latest industry standards, such as EMV, e-Commerce etc. Building on its success in the Philippines, BPC is further extending its reach to bring the benefits of its software solutions to the banks of Indonesia and other Asia Pacific countries.
