The SmartVista Processing solution has everything a bank would need to issue plastic or virtual cards to its customers. The only third-party components that will have to be purchased in addition to the software, the computer systems and standard networking equipment, are peripherals, such as Hardware Security Modules (HSM), PIN printers, embossers and, to issue smart cards, the THALES e-SECURITY P3 Personalisation Preparation Process software. You will not need to purchase expensive high-performance personalisation hardware: it can all be done with simple models without compromising any security requirements. All major card types and products are supported, both magnetic stripe and/or chip.

The card issuance functions are supported by an advanced card management subsystem that controls and tracks the card's entire life cycle, from the processing of a cardholder application to disabling the card when it expires. Even those applicants whose requests to issue a card have been rejected remain in the database and all new applications are checked against this information. Applications can be entered manually, using the Data Entry module, scanned from pre-printed forms or imported electronically if the bank decides to implement this function in the core banking system or in an external CRM application.

Automatic letters are generated for customers as important events approach or occur, such as reissue reminders and overdraft warnings, and the card status can be changed automatically when triggered by predefined events or manually through the user interface.
