This section describes the use of SmartVista Templates and Schemes to create and maintain customer related entities linked to a SmartVista Contract. As an example, consider a situation with a new private Customer and Cardholder being added under a Contract.
This Contract points to a Template Scheme that lists all templates that may be used to create records for this Customer under this Contract, such as Issuer Customer Template, Issuer Cardholder Template, Issuer Account Template and Issuer Card Template.
Note that, in this example, there is more than one Card Template in the Template Scheme. This does not mean that all these cards will be created for this Customer: these are possible options, so that the system could know which template to use when the customer applies for a Visa Classic or Visa Gold if, of course, they are applying under the same Contract.
After the customer has submitted an application linked to this Contract and it has been duly approved, SmartVista Back-Office takes the application data, looks up in the Contract which Template Scheme to use, then refers to the Templates specified in the Template Scheme for the items that the customer has included in the application and creates the relevant database records: Customer, Cardholder, Account(s), Card(s).
These templates rely on a lot of pre-configured information, such as the various Schemes and other parameters. Taken together, they define the terms and conditions of the bank's contract with the customer. However, once this work is done, entering new customers, cardholders, accounts and cards becomes a very simple procedure.
