SmartVista is designed to support multi-tiered merchant organisations, where every transaction can be traced to the terminal where it was entered, while reporting can be consolidated all the way up to the global level for this merchant.

The SmartVista merchant levels are: (Global) Merchant, Chain, Outlet, Department and Terminal. Of these, the Merchant and Terminal levels are mandatory, while the rest may be used or not.

Merchant level details include Merchant ID's ('Entity ID' and 'Entry ID'), Trading Name, Registered Name, Contact Names and Addresses, MSC, MCC, Default Account and many other details specifying the way the merchant is organised with regard to card based transactions. The exact terms and conditions of acquiring card based transactions from this merchant are specified in the Contract referenced as part of merchant details by Contract ID.
