This example would be typical for a small to medium-size bank
that runs all its processing centrally as a single system and can provide
access to all its users directly. 'Single processor' refers to the situation
where all processing is done according to the same schedule, so that,
for example, there cannot be two different cutover times for transactions
belonging to two different groups of customers. 'Multi- institution' means
that more than one bank's business can be supported, with total separation
from user access perspective. This capability can also be used to configure
the bank's business so that it can appear as if done by several financial
institutions, for instance, one for issuing and the other for acquiring,
again with total separation between officer groups who can access data
regarding 'their' institution.
