SmartVista Processing is designed to work non-stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All batch jobs, from the processing of clearing files to report generation, are run in the Back-Office component, while the Front-End is on line all the time so that customers can always get their transactions and withdrawals authorised.

The SmartVista Front-End can operate in both stand-in and host authorisation modes and, when in host authorisation mode, can be set up to fail over to stand in whenever the host system becomes unavailable for some reason. The Back-Office updates the Front-End database with new card reference information and account balances on the fly, without a need to stop the processing even for a minute, and mechanisms are in place to avoid conflicts should an authorisation request arrive just as the account is being updated.

As a truly mission critical application, SmartVista can be deployed on a high availability UNIX cluster of your choice or a fault tolerant platform such as Stratus.
