SmartVista Processing Solution Overview
The SmartVista Processing application software is built in strict adherence with Open Systems standards and principles, resulting in unmatched cross-platform portability within the UNIX/Oracle environment. To date, the software has been tested and proved to be fully functional on Hewlett Packard, IBM, ICL, Sequent, Bull, Sequoia, Stratus, Compaq Alpha and Himalaya hardware platforms with various versions and flavours of UNIX.

Therefore, SmartVista customers are free to choose the hardware platforms based on their unique requirements, preferences and expected price levels. Multiplatform configurations are no problem in a multibranch environment, for instance, a high performance fault-tolerant server, such as Stratus or Sequent, in the central location – and affordable HP or Alpha servers in branches.

With SmartVista Processing, openness goes beyond just the computing platform. It also refers to the consistent use of established industry standards:

  • for connecting to other processing centres based on ISO 8583 interfaces
  • for integration with international payments schemes based on their clearing and settlement specifications
  • for interfacing with terminal equpment. SmartVista Front-End supports fully functional direct out-of-the-box connection to a huge list of ATM's, kiosks and POS terminals from all major manufacturers.
SmartVista customers will always have the freedom to choose device types, makes and vendors without any limitation imposed by the software.
